The success of Chez les Alps is very much a family team effort and there will be no outside, inexperienced staff to mar your stay. Joan is responsible for catering and is happy to provide for individual needs wherever this is possible. Mike takes on transport tasks, chopping wood and generally supervising the provision of your creature comforts! We have decided that Sunday is our changeover day in order to take advantage of cheaper, less crowded travel and to allow you to finish your holiday on the high note of Saturday night! On arrival at the chalet, there will be an opportunity to get to know us and your fellow guests during a canapes and wine reception. Food (and drink!) is obviously integral to the enjoyment of your holiday and as such, we take pride in presenting food that is fresh, imaginative - and filling! Breakfast is served between 07.30 and 08.30 and consists of eggs, cereal (including porridge!), yoghurt, fresh fruit, pastries and bread which will set you up for an energetic day on the slopes!
Take time out for a shower and a rest by the fire before sitting down to a three-course dinner plus cheese board and coffee, which is served between 7.30 and 8.00 pm, accompanied by an excellent house wine (personally researched!). Note that Joan prides herself on offering a broad range of vegetarian dishes (you won't be served the usual omelette or mushroom risotto!) which can be prepared for those who do not eat meat. However, we would ask that you state your preference at time of booking so that delectable delights can be planned in advance! For those who still have the energy, the bars and nightclubs in Morzine are easily reached within a few minutes, either by car or our complementary minibus service, or you may prefer to linger over coffee in front of the open fire. Note that the staff night off is Wednesday when only breakfast will be provided. We can recommend several restaurants, or you may prefer to take pot luck! BACK TO TOP |
