We chose the Alpine village of Morzine as the location of Chez les Alps for its beauty and for the fact that it is situated in the centre of the vast Portes du Soleil region of the French Savoie alps. The traditional wooden chalets - made even more attractive by the addition of external seasonal decorations - and old stone buildings give it a unique charm and appeal.

The town has an excellent selection of shops, open until early evening. If you're after some apres ski away from the chalet, there is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and nightclubs to keep you satisfied. Otherwise, take the option of staying in the chalet to experience hospitality at its best - relaxing around the log fire, enjoying drinks and food and conversation with friends.

If you don't ski or would prefer a day off from all that exercise, there are plenty of other options. You can visit a frutiere to learn how local cheeses are manufactured; walk around the fantastic Lac du Montriand; visit the weekly local market or go further afield to Annecy, Chamonix or Geneva - all located within one and half hours from Morzine.

For those who prefer an energetic alternative to skiing, then how about ice skating? The ice rink, incidentally, also hosts the town's ice hockey team who play there each week as part of the French national leagues. Alternatively, the truly adventurous can try their hand at parapenting or skidooing. Details of all these activities are held by us and we will be happy to provide more information on request.
